POLICE BRUTALITY ON WOMAN PROTESTOR
National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) should take note of video-clippings shown on various news-channels on 10.08.2007 where J&K Police broke all records of humanity when some woman-policepersons attacked like wild animals on a helpless and non-provocating woman-protestor in Katra (
Jammu
). The woman was pulled up by her hairs, laid down on the road, beaten up mercilessly by a joint police-force and then dragged on the road like a dead animal. Video-clippings make heads of citizens down in shame to find that even after 60 years of independence, people have to bear such uncivilised brutality of police-persons. Guilty police-persons should be identified and punished in an exemplary manner apart from their termination from police-force. It seems only practical remedy remains to allow victim to punish in the same manner such barbaric police-persons as they might have done with the attacked citizen.
